FOR BRANDS AND PARTNERS

Be the brand that got it.

People living with invisible chronic illness are sold to constantly and understood almost never. They can spot a brand that has done five minutes of homework, and they tell each other. Turning up here properly buys you something an ad cannot. Nothing on this page has a price on it, because every good version of this starts with a conversation.

WHO YOU WOULD BE REACHING

Small, loyal, and hardly ever spoken to properly.

who they are

They research everything

Nothing gets bought on impulse when your energy is rationed. They read, compare and ask other people first, so a recommendation from somewhere they trust does most of the work.

who else buys

They rarely decide alone

Partners, parents and friends buy the thing too, usually as a present, usually after reading the same page. One reader is often a household.

how long for

They stay

This is not a phase somebody grows out of. A brand that helps once is still on the list years later, and gets named every time somebody new asks the group what works.

the opening

They are used to being got wrong

Which is the opportunity. The bar for being the one brand that speaks to them like adults is embarrassingly low, and nobody who clears it gets forgotten.

WHERE YOU WOULD SHOW UP

Four places, and the honest state of each.

ISHLY launched in September 2026, so some of this is running and some of it is coming. Here is where each part actually stands, rather than the version that would sound better.

Good-ish, the podcast

Life questions rather than diagnosis summaries, with lived experience and qualified expertise in the same conversation. Arriving early 2027, which is the cheapest moment there will ever be to be part of it.

Fine-ish, the magazine

A proper read people keep and pass on. The right home for a partner with something useful to give.

The list

Written like a letter, not a broadcast, and opened because of it. Growing now, and the place where a recommendation carries the most weight per reader.

The Energy Journal

Out now and in people’s hands daily for twelve weeks. Collaborations, inserts, editions for a specific group, or simply buying a stack of them for the people you look after.

THE PART MOST BRANDS SKIP

What we will not take money for.

This list is here for you as much as for the reader. The reason a mention from ISHLY is worth having is that this audience knows we turn things down, and knows what kind of things. Anyone can buy an ad. Not everyone can be carried here.

  • Nothing that claims to cure or reverse a chronic condition. Not a supplement, not a device, not a protocol, not a diet.
  • Nothing that makes the reader the problem. No mindset, discipline or willpower framing, however softly it is worded.
  • Nothing that needs somebody to be ill to work. No fear, no urgency built on a symptom, no photographs of somebody before and after.
  • Nothing we have not used or checked ourselves. If we cannot say why it helps on a bad day, it does not go out.
Tell us about your brand

If you are reading this list and nodding, we should talk.

WAYS IN

Pick the one that suits what you have.

Back an episode

Your brand sits with one conversation, read in our words rather than yours, and stays in the archive for as long as people keep finding it.

Back an issue

A whole issue of Fine-ish, including a page that is actually worth reading rather than an advert wearing a page’s clothes.

Take a series

A run of episodes or issues around a theme your brand has a real claim to, so you are part of the thing instead of interrupting it.

Make something together

A product, a guide, an edition, a workshop. The strongest version of this, and the one people screenshot and pass on.

FOR EMPLOYERS, CLINICS AND TEAMS

Give people something that actually helps.

If you look after people who are managing a long-term condition — an HR team with staff on reduced hours, a clinic, a patient organisation, an employer running a wellbeing programme — you have probably noticed there is very little to give them that is not either a leaflet or an insult.

The Energy Journal works as that thing. It asks nothing of the person on a bad day, it does not report on them to anybody, and it is the rare gift that says we thought about this rather than we had to send something.

what they usually get

A leaflet about resilience and a link to the employee assistance line.

You can do better than that for roughly the price of a branded water bottle.

WHY NOW

Early is the whole offer.

ISHLY is new. The journal is out, the magazine and the list are running, and the podcast arrives in early 2027. That is exactly why this is worth doing now rather than in two years, when the same conversation comes with a rate card and a queue.

A founding partner gets to shape what this looks like instead of slotting into a format somebody else designed, and gets to be the brand that was there first — which, with an audience this good at remembering, is not a small thing.

Tell us what you make and who it is for. If it is not right for these readers we will say so, and that is the answer that makes the yes worth anything.

Tell us about your brand.

What you make, who it is for, and what you had in mind. We will come back with where we would start and what it would look like.
