Resources — ISHLY

COMING SOON

Useful things, once they exist.

Guides and courses for the practical side of living with an invisible chronic illness — the appointments, the explaining, the energy arithmetic, the paperwork. None of it is ready yet. Here is what is being built.

WHAT IS BEING BUILT

Two kinds of thing.

free guides

Short, practical, one job each

Things you can print, fill in and take with you. One page, not a workbook.

  • A sheet to fill in before an appointment, so the important part does not fall out of your head in the room
  • Scripts for explaining it — to employers, relatives, and the person who suggests yoga
  • A simple way to work out what a day actually costs you
In progress

courses

Longer, for when you have the capacity

Built to be done in pieces, on bad days as well as good ones. No live calls you have to be upright for, no cohort to fall behind.

  • Working with a body that will not commit — income, employers and an unreliable week
  • The first two years — what to do while you are still being disbelieved
In development
Fine-ish, a free magazine from ISHLY.

FREE DOWNLOAD

Permission to cancel, in writing.

Something to point at when the guilt turns up at 4pm, the words for the next person who says you look great, and dinner you can make sitting down.

No streaks. No dates. No gratitude section.

ABOUT THE FREE ONES

Yes, they will ask for your email.

We would rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise. The free guides cost nothing and they will ask for an email address. That is the trade: you get the thing, we get a way to tell you when the next one exists.

What you will not get is daily emails, a sequence designed to wear you down, or your address handed to anybody else. Unsubscribe whenever — it will not be made awkward.

The courses will be paid. Educational, not treatment, not therapy, and never a substitute for your own clinician.

no pressure, obviously

Be there for the rest of it.

The goods are out. The podcast and the journal are next. We build this in the open, so you get the first episode, the first journal and the occasional piece of writing that says the thing out loud. No pep talks, no miracle cures, no “have you tried yoga”. Nothing more than you asked for.

Unsubscribe whenever. We won't be weird about it.
